As I posted on the 9-5 board, in the sequence related to my new 9-5 Aero, where the abovementioned test was listed, I did it by the book on my 1996 900SET with 107k mi and got 39F/4C from the center vent using a 5" instant-read probe from the hardware store, stuck half-way in. Last A/C service was about 18 mo/20k miles ago when the heater core was done. Weather on test day was sunny and around 79F/26C. I think 50F/9C is not cold enough. I mean it *will* cool you off on a warm day, but seems not as cold as it should be.
Maybe someone with a NG900 shop manual can tell us what the spec is for the NG900s.
/Geoff
