Charge and measure from the low side, there is a provided riser near the battery. Charge to 32-34 PSI on a hotter day, doors open, recirc off, ACC on max cool and max fan. The site glass behind the grill is not bubble free when properly charged. If charged to get the site glass free of bubbles, the pressure will be perhaps mid 40's PSI and the AC air will be cool, not cold and ineffective. If pressure is too low, the boiling point will be too low and the evaporator will frost up. The 32-24 pressure will create a good AC performance and avoid frosting temperatures.
There are a few different products to use. Gas, gas+oil, gas+oil+leak_stop. If you have lost refrigerant, adding some with oil would be a good idea.
