1994 900 SE -139K. This is the fourth clutch cable to fail, it looks like the self adjuster fell apart, I got 40k out of this one before failing without warning, lucky me, in my driveway this time.
I have the Haynes manual and tried this once before, had a lot of the stuff out of the way to replace it a couple of years ago, but could not get the air duct off to access the inside connection to the clutch pedal, been through the archives and could not find any good detailed info on replacement. Now I have the benefit of the car in my own garage and would like to give it another shot vs. getting the sucker towed and spending 150.00 or more. Also keep a spare cable in the trunk so it would be essentially free, if I can pull it off. I can drive my 00 9-3 in the meantime, so availability not an issue.
If I do this I will chronicle the detailed steps with my digital camera and text and make it available on the web for future use by others.
