Increase in stiffness of the pressure plate is the number one reason for clutch cable failure. This is due to the cheap f_ing plastic self adjustment pieces for cable stretch. Your mechanics should have known the increase in pressure plate stiffness would blow your clutch cable making your Viggen clutch useless. Most stock/dealer mechanics don't seem to know much about upgrading to the Hydraulic system which I would recomend (find someone who has done it before) if you still have any interest in keeping the viggen clutch. The stock clutch should be all you want for any applications under 250 hp. Sorry about the bum deal, that sounds like classic mechanic owner miscommunication.
