I have polks all around. I think the 6 X 9 EX369's from polk are a great value. I just saw them at crutchfield or Circuit City (I can't remember where) for $99. Mount from underneath, though. Otherwise, you'll have to trim the speaker housing (which is what I did) before the speaker will drop in.
I will say that if you talk to crutchfield they will tell you that no 6 X 9's will fit in the back and try and push components instead.
If you are into sound as much as you say and volume then think of getting replacement speakers up front. I did put componenets up front with the woofer in the door and the tweeter in the dash. Actually I had the front's installed for $40. Cheaper than if I had to run wire to the doors. Well worth it.
I'm currently thinking of putting the Alpine 450 in the trunk in the same manner that Slaab (http://www.sounddomain.com/memberpage/238210/2) from the board did.
