all of a sudden you become too expirienced and too expensive for your employers. Your salary goes up over the years and they look at you and say, hey, we can replace you with two kids out of college for what we pay you, and you are now getting into the age bracket where you will actually start using some your health care benefits, you have a lot of vacation time and unless you are a CEO or have a picture of the present one doing disgusting things to a farm animal your arse is outta here. But no one will ever tell you that. I will have to reckon with this in the next couple years I am sure, about the time I turn 50. I have been looking at future consulting work, some people will still pay lots for experience, they just don't want to own you. Rentals make more sense these days, and we cannot turn back the clock.

I know what you mean about not sweating your arse off. I grew up in MN and used to play HS hockey against those damn Canadians. I sure wish you the best, and I wish I could drive the 94 Saab to KS to take your mind off of things.
