Clutch grabs high

My clutch has been feeling stiff for a little while now, and there was a bit of "slop" at the top. The clutch was also not engaging until the pedel was almost completely let out. Taking the advise of my indie, I had him replace the clutch cable yesterday. Now the slop is gone, and it feels a bit smoother, but it is still not engaging until the last minute...it's a bit diffficult to drive. I've also noticed a couple times lately that if i hit a bump that it will slip out of gear. Is there any way to adjust this, or does this mean its time for a new clutch. This cluth only has 50k miles on it.
