When I bought our 900 a little while ago the seller told me it had a broken front spring, and the (very good) local dealer wanted $200 to fix it. I made an appointment to get it fixed, and when I was there had them do a 27-point safety check I had a free coupon for. About waiting around for about an hour the mechanic came out and said the car was all set and everything was fine. I asked him about the spring, and he hadn't noticed it or been told to replace it! He said "You don't need to replace it. the little bit that is missing won't matter, and probably half the NG900s on the road are just like yours" I asked the service manager, expecting him to say do it, and he said "Well it's up to you - the little bit that's broken off isn't enough to make any difference, but it'll probably break again eventually and then it'll start effecting ride height and you'll want to have it done". I was tired of waiting around so I said I' think about it and bring it in later.
However, the car drives fine and so I wonder if I shouldn't just leave it until it gets worse or the car needs other work in that area. Any thoughts?
