Windows go down after installing new switches - ?????

I have a 1995 900SE convertible and recently all the windows went down and I was not able to get them to move back up. I called one of the parts vendors on this site and based on what was happening he suggested buying a completely new center console which contains the individual window switches and the switch for the convertible top. The new part arrived and I installed it and behold my windows began to work.
Now the weird part. My wife is telling me that once or twice a day all the windows in unison go down for no reason - and she has to then move them back up. Also, nothing has been spilled on the new switches
Does anyone have any idea what is occuring.............
Thanks for your help
Ray
