ABS Speedometer Problem

Hello out there. I have a 1995 2.0 Turbo 900SE (manual transmission) with what I believe may be an ABS sensor problem. I've looked up ABS sensor on this BB and found close descriptions of the problem but mine has a twist. Hopefully someone can figure it out since it's at a shop right now with a slew of newbies trying to figure it out (GM dealer who recently acquired a Saab department).
I was backing over my driveway which has a drop off onto the street (approx. 1 ft drop). Right after the rear dropped the ABS light came on and the speedometer jumped to about 150 MPH. Currently, the ABS light comes on at start up, speedometer doesn't work when driving forward. Here's the twist. When I brake the speedometer begins to work giving what seems an accurate reading, then shoots up to around 150MPH as I come to a stop. Then, when I drive forward, it doesn't work again. The shop said the ABS sensors are working well (Not sure if they checked the current to the ABS lines, the teeth with an occiloscope, clearance of ABS sensors or what else. Again, they may not know what they're talking about and a sensor could be bad). Any suggestions about what the problem might be? (hoping it's not the ECU).
Help!
