Koni adjustable shocks let you adjust them to your needs and to compensate for wear down the road. They work quite well with stock SE springs. This chassis has limited vertical travel before hitting the bump stops. Lower springs reduces the remaining travel of the strut. You can hack off part of the bump stop to compensate. Lower springs also mean less ground clearance. Some have busted their oil pans, less clearance only makes that more likely.

When you do the work, replace the upper mounts too. Search drs<underscore>install for suspension work, 3 or 4 years ago.

I guess you could call the front struts and springs 'bolt on', but its a big job.
