Convertable? That would be a C900. This would be the wrong BB

Sounds like an O2 sensor issue. The sensor gets its signal ground thru the exhaust system... yes very stupid. Measure ohms from sensor base to battery ground connector (not post). Should be fraction of an ohm, use a DMM. If resistive, find out where and fit that. Example, back out sensor a but, brigten contact faces with wet/dry sandpaper, and reseat. Often otherwise good sensors are replaced at great espense, when removing and replacing the old sensor would have achieved the same result.
Check resistance of sensor heater, if open circuit, new sensor. Check fuse for sensor heater, check wiring and connector mechanical condition.
Idle speed is less than 1000, but TACH may not be that accurate as a display.
