I've had a long standing turbo boost problem on a UK 900 SE Turbo 1997 model. Anyway here's how the story goes:
I bought the car only to find out is was over-boosting and the fuel pump safety feature cut-off the fuel to prevent damage. I took it to my local mechanic (I'm a novice when it comes to Saabs my first one) and he diagnosed it as the boost control valve being faulty. He ordered the new part and magic it cured the problem, but since fitting the new valve I now have no boost, even pushing the car under a heavy load the APC only registers a tiny amount of boost.
I ended up taking it my local saab dealer - ch-ching!! To be fair they diagnosed it in half an hour, the guy said he checked the turbo, waste gate everything and all is working ok, and he thought it was wiring the between the ECU and turbo or the ECU itself is faulty..... Can this be right???? Surely he should be able to 'plug-in' to the ECU to diagnose if the wiring is at fault or if it's the ECU, he said that it would take him an hour or so to investigate if it's a wiring fault ...
Please, any comments would be greatly appreciated, it depressing having a turbo but no boost!!
Thanks John
