I run 2 standard bars on my 1996S and have the SAS bar on my 1997SE. The SAS bar is much better than the tandem standard bars. The tandem setup reacts to body roll differently than a single bar or the SAS bar. It seems to allow some amount of roll but then snaps back or over-reacts with a spring like effect. This is very different from the way the SAS bar behaves. I am thinking of either having the two bars welded together or else taking one off. Right now they are just bolted together using some washers to fill the space at the mounting locations.
