Mufflers:

inlet size
outlet sise
space for the muffler body
making up hangers for the muffler to fit factory mounts (labor for welding)

For your 2.3L, you need a resonator and muffler.

Larger injectors or higher fuel pressures will do nothing to increase power and might do a lot of harm or not work well at all.

Power is from burning air and fuel in the proper mixture. If you just add more fuel, it will run like crap, or not at all, unless the O2 sensor adaption can undo your change and get the fuel flow back to where it was.

You need more air and fuel. If you increase air flow with intake and exhaust mods, the ECU will map more fuel to suit... no problem. But those gains are not large. You have a given displacement. What you are trying to do is improve the volumetric efficiency. You can try to approach unity, but you can't get there. The beauty of turbo charging or supercharging is that you can go way past a VE of one.

With a T5 turbo system, if you increase the boost pressure, which is easy, the ECU will properly manage the required AF ratios up to its fuel cut pressure of around 16 PSI. No changes to injectors or fuel pressure, it just works. The folks with the C900's have to worry about AF rations at higher boost levels and they need to use higher fuel pressures or larer injectors to avoid blowing things up.

Sometimes the most cost effective power upgrade for a 2.3L NA is trading it in for a newer turbo equiped model. 1999 is the last year for a T5. 1999 Viggens and 2000+ 9-3s are T7 systems and large increases in power cannot be done with inexpensive boost controllers.
