I am not very comfortable with your conclustions or what is stated or 1/2 stated in the undated article that you linked.
The article is not dated. There are two authors of this info and they do not see eye-to-eye about Techron. And when comments are made about Techron based products, the concentrations are not referenced, just some brand names. Techron Concentrate is highly rated later on.
The article states that "polyetheramine" is the best chemical for cleaning things up.
"""One of the best additives is polyetheramine. It keeps injectors, valves and combustion chambers clean without the help of any additional fluidizers"""
"""
Some of the high end aftermarket fuel additive packages are very effective at removing deposits in the fuel injectors, intake ports, intake valves, combustion chambers, and exhaust valves. One of the best products available is the STP Complete Fuel System Cleaner. It can out perform Techron and other Techron-based products like Slick 50 and Gumout Regane with respect to intake valve and combustion chamber clean up.
"""
The above does not catagorically state that the STP product is better than Techron Concentrate. There are Techron fuel injector cleaners that are not very strong.
"""
The prevailing wisdom seems to be that BG44K is an excellent, but very strong cleaner, really only appropriate for use on badly carboned/neglected engines, especially considering its cost. I mean, you don't need oven cleaner to do the dishes. You can try getting it through a friendly shop or auto supplier or you can try getting it from one of the auto e-tailers. Other top end/injector cleaners you may want to try are AMSOIL PI (through distributors like our Paul S), Chevron Techron (concentrate) and Redline SI. That's more or less the order of preference I've seen. Some of the house branded injector cleaners (like GM and Mazda) are reportedly as strong as BG44K.
"""
Elsewhere on the web:
"""The active ingredient in Techron Concentrate is engineered and manufactured by Chevron. Though we do contract the actual bottling of the "juice" to others; it is Chevron that originally invented, made, and patented PEA (polyetheramine) fuel additive technology in the 80's."""
