Well, it's actually two seperate brackets that the alternator is bolted too and you only need to replace the upper one.
The lower one that also serves as the drive shaft support stay on the engine.
Loosen the two 8mm Allen bolts for the alternator, pry the alternator out from the brackets and let it rest on top of the catalytic converter or the engine subframe. Remember to disconnect the battery.
Now you can remove the 4 bolts holding the upper bracket and replace it.
If you need to take the alternator out some other time, you need to remove the catalytic converter.
