So I was comparing your drive cycle (all dealers agree, that you have to do that drive cycle precisely...they do it with an odb2 attached while they drive till they get each condition 'ready').
The "FAILED" deq report says:
ODB: FAIL
MIL: Off
Misfire: Ready
Fuel System: Ready
Comprehensive: Ready
Catalyst: UNREADY
Catalyst Heat: N/A
Evaporative: UNREADY
2nd Air: UNREADY
AC: N/A
O2 Sensor: UNREADY
O2 Heater: UNREADY
EGR: N/A
DLC: Pass
all dealers say $190 minimum to do it all. and most indi's can't do it"
well, they would say that. Does an ODB2 tell you any of these things. Should I buy one (what kind) and hook it up and do the drive cycle you posted (thanks for that!) until I get these items to say "ready". do these items (catalyst, evap etc) correspond to ODB codes, or is it too cryptic to get that type of deq info out of them?
Thanks for any advice or brands or feature recommendations. An ODB2 may be cheaper than the dealer drive cycle.
