Installing keyless entry system

I recently purchased a 1998 Saab 900SE. There was no remote for the keyless entry system and the dealer wanted $1200 USD to install a new one. I decided to buy a remote start/keyless entry system and give it a go on the install. At this point I have come to stopping points on 3 issues and could use advice from a real pro.
1. I am trying to install the wiring that triggers the LOCK and UNLOCK wires of the keyless entry system. I have located the "brain" of the keyless entry system in the kickpanel on the passenger side. There are 6 to 8 wires that come out of this unit. Can anyone tell me how to determine which wires are the LOCK and UNLOCK wires? I understand that this model SAAB 900SE has negative-triggered, relay-driven door locks... correct?
2. I need to connect this remote start unit to a tach wire. I understand that this can be hooked up to the coil output or to the wiring to the fuel injectors. I'm not sure where the coil output is located (under the DI unit??) or if I should mess with the fuel injector wiring. Assistance on this would be appreciated.
3. Finally (and least important) is the connection to the hatch release. Where can this wire be found (driver's door running board??) and what color coding is the wire? Is this a negative-triggered system like the door locks?
All in all, the install has not been terribly bad. It's just these three "hang-ups" that have me stumped. Any advice that you may have would be appreciated, very much. Then I can get the dash back together and the car going again!
