and I cannot say that you will like the NG900 better. There are things I miss about my OG900's (I owned four of them since 1980)...namely, the fine steering response and front end components that lasted forever, better handling, the seats, headroom, and more cargo space with the seat down with a nice flat platform. And there are things that I prefer on the NG900, better engine performance, nicer interior and dashboard, much more reliable electronics and better audio. I cant say what you will prefer, but I miss my OG900's. If you are looking at a manual trans car, do not get a 1994-1997 model, get the 1998 model or a 9-3 as they have the hydraulic clutch which will save you lots of headaches.
In any case get the car thouroughly checked out before you buy, regular oil changes are a necessity for long life and sludge issues with the 2.3 S model abound at higher mileage. Can you afford 10-13k for a 2000 9-3? In later years they fixed many wrongs.
