Just agreed to purchase a 2000 Boxster (33k) as my main car. I will be relegating my 95 900se v6 convertible to the secondary car for family trips and the like. The car has eaten me alive in expenses - while I may be over the hump, I like to think I got 40k out of a v6 with no engine or convertible top disasters and it should run as a nice smoker for quite a few years. My indie says my car has proven pretty average for a 1995.
My first Saab was a 1985 16v turbo that had 217k and cost me $1500. It cost me $400 to fit new shocks and tires and did 10k without a problem.
Ironically, it was around 4mpg more efficient!
