Thought at last step, but no driveshaft separation...

At work now. Sorry, but the pics looked better (brighter) at home on my laptop.
Yes, I thought I was to the very last step, it's just very tight. I undid everything (except separate the driveshaft). Popped the tie rod end with the pitman arm, just like the other side. Then the ball joint with a separator (which destroyed the boot - I know). And then levered it down so the sway-bar link came free (notice it bent in the picture?!). Where does it indicate the driveshaft is to be removed/come free?! This is where I'm stuck because I thought everything was free. I guess I have to rubber mallet from behind to get the driveshaft to "pop" off.
I'll read through "the other" site again (did not see anything good there). But it looks like the directions are as detailed as WIS and Haynes - pop this, undo this, then remove strut. I do see in one of the pictures that the driveshaft is removed.
So, a rubber mallet to the back of it to "persuade" it to come loose, and it comes directly out? (just be sure not to pull it while pounding from the driveshaft) And I did the other side without doing this! I'll look when I get home.
Anyone with a magic trick to get the ball joint boots on there?!
Funny how a fresh day's start can bring *some* clarity. Thanks everyone for the comments!
