There are several messages on the board about this. Here are a few things I learn about reading some of them to solve my very own Frontlight Failure troubles in the past.
1. This MIGHT OR NOT be true. Change your bulbs in pairs. I had a persistent problem with my Frontlight Failure coming on intermitently. I would jiggle the lights and get it solved for a little while. The problem kept coming back. I replaced both bulbs and problem solved!
The logic behind it, and I do not really understand if this is true, is that the car method of detecting electrical problems is to monitor resistances differences along a certain relay (the front lights for example). When there are significant differences in the resistance between the two bulbs, you get the front light failure problem. I do not see what this has to do with a bulb that would work when jiggled vs. one that was always on. However, I replaced both bulbs and that solved my problem.
2. The front light relay fuse. There is a fuse box in the driver side corner of the engine compartment. One of those "giant" fuses is the light relay fuse. Vacuum the area clean the contacts, etc.
If after 1 and 2 you still have a problem, start looking carefully for bad/corroded wiring, a defective relay, etc.
