HELP! Serpentine Belt Trouble

I just put a new seprntine belt on my '98 SET (I did not do the short belt mod), and it is not tight. There is a small amount of slack, just enough so that belt does not turn. I got it form Auto Zone, according to them, it's the correct belt. Is there a way to apply more tension to the belt (the tensioner is in the original position)?
