If a car will not start after sitting several days in very cold weather, battery is the most likely cause, especially if 3 or more years old (exc. Optima), regardless of warranty period.
If not a sealed battery, remove the two small covers, and check fluid level (shine flashlight into each cell and make sure the lead plates are not exposed) If low, add water carefully until the plates are covered.
If the battery charge is very low, and if the person giving you a jump will not wait around for the 10-15 minutes it can take the battery to 'recover', or if one cell is bad, the car may not start. Same thing if battery cables are corroded, if the clamps do not make good contact, etc.
Even a weak battery will usually recover after about 15 minutes connected to another car so you can at least start and make it to a service station to have it tested but it can take an hour of driving to charge to a decent level.
If you are up to removing the battery, it can be taken into a service station to be charged (can take a few hours tho).
If under warranty you can get credit based on the prorated warranty period on a new battery, or even a free replacement.
