Hi there,

A few weeks ago i was repairing the heat element in the front seat.
Testing this lead to that I completely drained the battery for power.
After one night of charging the battery was ok again. However crancking
time when starting the engine was longer than the day before. And
the fuel pump ran constantly when applying ignition after the engine
had been shut down for half an hour. Normally the fuel pump buzzes for
a few seconds. Being sure of a faulty fuel pump was coming up i presure
tested the system and the FPR only to find out that everything was working
ok. In dispear i thought off resetting the ECU by removing the negative wire from the battery for a few minutes. And now comes the "magic". After putting the negative wire back on the battery it started perfect. And the fuel pump only buzzes for a few seconds when applying ignition. How the h... can this be ?? I know it sounds absurb and crazy but thats what happend...Anyone who has an explanation for this ?? I cant figure out the logic...So maybe hard starting can be related to a fault code stored in the ECU and not always being the fuel pump or ignition being faulty.
