It seems to be buried under the intake manifold. So not easy to remove for cleaning. Use a carb cleaner spray. I don't think that Techron would be aggressive enough, and perhaps Techron requires heat to work. Remember that carb cleaner can damage paint, so work well away from the vehicle. Remember to oil the IAC's pivots as the cleaner is also a degreaser. Also oil TB pivots if a carb spray or TB cleaner spray is used.

Sounds like you have dealt with everything else that you would want to cover before doing the IAC. I get the impression that the IAC would be easy to service at the time that plugs were being changed. (I have no experience with the V6). I do not recall many/any posts about V6 IAC cleaning. Your IAC certainly has the years to accumulate deposits. The I4 engines do get quite hard and tough deposits. Please report what you find.
