it seems as if this clearly is not an ignition switch problem. If so, dash lights should go out, etc. because should it be failing, it would be as if the key were turned off (to my understanding). I would be frustrated with the shop for not being more discerning, but it will probably be difficult to get any money back.
Also, SWEDECAR had a very informative post on testing voltages, etc. in trying to diagnose any relay problems. I am carrying that post in my car with my voltmeter for when (IF) I have starting problems again.
