I have an early 95 900SE 5-speed convertible with 98k miles. Recently, I started hearing a "clunk" or "knock" when going from reverse to forward, or around corners. It is definitely suspension related, I just don't know exactly where it comes from. I've searched this board, and from the posts I've read, I suspect the strut mounts.
In the many posts on the subject I've read, it seems that it might be wise to do some preemptive part replacement or upgrades while I've got the suspension disassembled. Somewhere I read about a '94-early'95 suspension upgrade kit, but I can't find that post again. I don't know what advantages that would gain me anyway.
I put new KYB strut inserts on the car about a year ago. I've been pleased with them, dispite the many disparaging remarks about KYB that I've seen on the board. I plan to buy new ScanTech strut mount kits from eEuroparts.
Other than the strut mounts, what other items are suspect, or should be upgraded, and for what reason. I'm not really into performance upgrades, I just want a reliable ride. As always, the expertise of the community that frequents this board is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
