Clutch pedal vibration... Posted by Clay McNeely [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Hello, everyone. I had my clutch replaced last month, and while the shifting is very smooth, I am having a little problem with vibration in the clutch pedal. If I depress the clutch pedal about 1" or so, the vibration will stop, but I'm not about to go driving around everywhere with my foot resting on the clutch pedal. Besides, that makes it a little tricky to use the cruise control. :-)
It wouldn't be a very big problem if the vibration didn't cause so much noise. It is especially pronounced when accelerating from low RPM's. There is a point where the clutch pedal sounds like an extremely hyper cricket or a fairly subdued cicada. Not only is the noise very annoying, but the vibration can tickle you for that 1" if you're not careful.
Is there any way to fix this, or will I just have to live with it? Additionally, can this be repaired by a somewhat competent do-it-yourself guy, or will I need to take it back to the shop that did the clutch replacement? Any advice, suggestions, and/or feedback is greatly appreciated. Please let me know if I need to clarify something or if you may have any questions. Thanks in advance, drive safely, and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
