isn't discussed as forthrightly on the WIS as that for OBDII related CEL faults. It may be that I just haven't stumbled across such a discussion yet given the coplexity of the WIS, but I suspect it exists. I had occasion to trigger an SRS light when doing a bunch of work on a 9-5 last summer. I used a booster pack to power up the car to roll the windows up or something when the passenger seat was out of the car. I forgot that there's a side-impact bag in the seat and the light came on. I think the fault-handling is fairly conservative; it may check to see 50 to 100 trouble-free start-up sequences before it's satisfied that the fault is corrected but it will very likely turn itself out if there is no fault. It took about 2 weeks for mine to.
