(Infinity) on my 11 year old 94 SE, and I am disappointed with the outcome. I figured replacing these old speakers with some high end new ones would surely restore the sound and should even improve it. The dash speakers (32.5cf) sound about the same but play at a lower volume. The rear speakers (Kappa 693.5i) play at a MUCH lower volume and do not sound any better than the ones I replaced that all the woofer surround foam had rotted off of. The condition of the old speakers made it hard to believe they worked at all.

I suspect mounting these from below is a less than ideal setup (cannot mount on top of panel like OEM). The woofer surround contacts the sharp flared edge of the panel that not only decreases performance but will likely lead to an early demise of the speakers. Either one would need to remove this flared edge (grinder) or add an offset plate of some sort. I didnt go through all this.

I have searched many posts on the wiring (+ vs. -) and the (1 vs. 2) identifier on the factory black plug and see there is a lot of disagreement on what is what. It appears as though "2" is not always the (+) wire as stated by some posters and the color of the wire may not always indicate polarity. At any rate I experimented with swapping (+ and -) wires around and hear no audible difference anyway.

For the record, here is what I had on my 94 SE and how they were terminated in the block:

Rear Right; Connector Block#
black/Green #2
black/white #1

Rear Left;
brown/white #1
brown #2

Front Right;
brown/black #1
brown/red #2

Front Left;
brown #2
brown/gray #1

If I were to do this again, I would only use speakers that can be top mounted in back and look for something with 92 db or greater efficiency. These Kappas were definitely not worth the money, time or effort.
