Before I forget - sorry about sugesting ALL balance shaft equiped saabs are likely to exp. timing chain issues by 115k. That is what I had heard.
When do most crap out?
Anyway, I have an oppourtunity to pick up a 95'900se 5spd, 159k, clean (or so I am told - I haven't seen it yet) w/a busted timing belt...for $600.
I figure the valves are bent but I'm not at all familiar w/this engine. Is it generaly a good motor? Has anyone got a recomendition for sourcing a new/rblt V6? I saw "AAA auto parts" ad for rblt V6 motors in the parts classified & plan on calling them tomorrow for a price. If this is an interference motor & there's mangled valves, would it be stupid to pull the heads & have them fixed? Thanks for input - I'll check the BB tomorrow evening.
