I installed the Saab sport exhaust this afternoon. Ordered the flex pipe from eeuroparts, but FedEx claimed they left it at my front door, when they didn't... so I don't know where that is still. Because I am in southern California, the flex pipe on the car wasn't too bad, so I am leaving it on there for now. As for your questions:
1) Is this a tough job?- ummm kind of. It's kind of a long job because I had a tough time getting the old system out of there. Under the car there isn't a lot of room to rip out the new system, so I cut through the place where my hole was (in back of the muffler) with a dremmel. All in all, the job took about 3 hours.
2) Can I do it without a lift (ramps and a hydraulic jack for the front end)?- I used two jacks on either side of the car (towards the back).. no problem there.
3) How hard is it to get the flex pipe off of the catalytic converter? Any advice?- haven't tried this yet.
4) Should I use cement between the pieces? I wasnt sure what the proper procedure was for those weird ball fittings between the mufflers.
- I didn't use it yet. It came with the kit that I ordered from Taliaferro... I guess once I get the flex pipe, I'll go back under and put on the gasket stuff.
