bad mounts or not. The angle of the impression in the center of the DI will not allow draining (water cannot flow uphill). Hopefully engine washing is a once in awhile event and you can sop up water in the cavity with a rag or sponge, if it bugs you. I have a 94 SE and a 00 9-3 SE, both have the same arrangement. But I only clean engines once every 3-4 years. DO NOT get the battery, the MaxiFuse box or the ABS Control Module wet or you will be sorry.
