First of all.
After the cable is hoooked around the clutch pedal and inserted in the transmission bracket, if you grab the white plastic block and pull the wire toward radiator, you will notice that you can pull (release) the self adjuster over and over again as many times you want to.
So you pull the wire toward radiator and route it over the clutch lever, no biggie.
It is also important that you got the cable rubber seat in firewall seated properly and that it is no pieces left from the old cable still in the firewall.
