900SE V6 opinions needed

Here's the situation: I bought a '95 900 V6 convertible in December because I needed a front wheel drive car and I only had $3,000 to spend. I ended up getting it in Pennsylvania for $2,750 and it's driven great since then. It has a bad dent on the rear quarter panel, needs it's timing belt/pulleys changed (before it blows up) and a new wheel because one is bent and leaks air. A body shop will repair the dent for $1,000, a mechanic will replace the belt & pulley for $700 and I can get a new set of wheels at cheapwheels.com for $300. My question is this: should I spend the $2,000 and have a total of $4,750 invested in a nice looking good running convertible that has the troublesome V6 engine or should I try to sell it (hopefully for $2,750) and buy something else with the $4,750? I didn't know about the V6 issues until after I bought the car and really don't want to invest more money in it if it's just going to blow up eventually. I don't want to finance and that's all the $$ that I can come up with. What do you think?
