It is NOT going to come loose. Anyway, by arms I meant the stachion arm and the control arm. If you cannot use a hammer to free the ball joint, you will have to go to plan B. Plan B means removing the arms from the car (stachion and control), removing the shaft from the wheel housing/rotor complex and then using the correct tool to free the joint.
No matter how you look at this job, it will be a bit of work :) It is simply the nature of the beast.
