I am looking for the correct lubricant to use on my throttle plate pivot points, return spring shafts, etc.
The remaining lubricant is clear and thin (thinner than lithium grease), almost like some type of synthetic. Reminds me of Radio Shack Lube-Gel (a.k.a. Super-Lube) but thinner.
The throttle plate shaft is seated in what look like thin metal inserts/bushings in the throttle body. The lock nut at the throttle plate shaft has a nylon insert, and does not look like it should be taken off too many times. One of the return springs has a shaft with a sleeve bearing. Both springs rotate on plastic carriers.
Some of the pivot points are almost dry on my car, and as a result the throttle does not move as freely as it once did. Some dirt was found in the sleeve bearing. The bolt holding the plastic throttle lever was loose. TPS (throttle position sensor) was good. One of the springs was visibly sticking (coils stuck together), which was easy to fix with a brush, but some kind of dry lubricant that does not attract dirt should probably be used on the springs (?)
