My car, 900se turbo, 1996, 2.0, 57k miles is all. Why such low milage you ask! Small town, mechanics (when someone says "..gee I always wanted to work on one of these Saab things, don't walk, run) not knowing what thier doing, messed up a perfectly nice car to just replace the water punp. If you live in a small town, DON'T BUY A SAAB, you'll regret it.
It's such a long story, I don't even want to get into it. NUTSHELL, because of vacuums being hooked up wrong, car ran rich, carboned up, wasted the 02 sensors, replaced them, carboned so bad it fouled the new ones after it had been running great previously to the mechanic, only ran good for about 75mi, carboned up the sensors again, cleaned, blew out, ran ok for about the same, sooooo.. I had a cleaver Idea, leave the o2 sensors off and let the carbon blow out, this was dumb, tweaked the wastegate accuator, dugh! I'm stupid ok. This poor thing has got a new boost solenoid ($200), new cassette ($200+), 2 new o2 sensors ($190) well, ok, I'm stupid.. BUT I CANT FIND A NEW WASTEGATE ACCUATOR, at least for sell in the US without buying the entire compressor unit. HELP PLEASE HELP, This looks like a job for Dean, please help me man, I'll have it trailered to have it fixed, I'm not macho and think I can do everything or ANYthing on my (once) nice SAAB. I'm so sad, what a nice car that could end up as a basket case and a nice project for a real SAAB tech that might be able to fix it eventually.
