Check so that the shaft from motor to U-joint is not twisted or that the 4 lock screws in U-joint are not loose.
To be able to communicate with TSAS using the Tech 2 or ISAT you need to "wake up" the TSAS ECU and right after that push the connect command. The TSAS stay awake only for a few seconds if you do not get the connection established but if you do connect, you will be hooked up until you turn the ignition key off again or turn off the scan tool and then you will have to do the "waky, waky" call again.
To connect, you hook up the scan tool (this is for Tech 2, I don't remember the ISAT commands) and go to body and TSAS. There you stop and turn on the ignition and open the windshield latches, now you hit enter on the Tech 2 and it should connect.
The other way if the top is open is to turn on the ignition and push the open/close top switch and then hit enter on the Tech 2. That will also jolt the TSAS ECU and wake it up but only for about 5-10 sec. If you miss the window you need to turn off and on the ignition again and push the conv top switch.
