I think engine mounts?

After I did a tune-up the other day, later that night I now here a vibration noise in the cabin coming from below the dash. I don't think it has anything to do with the tune-up. It sounds like a loud muffler or the muffler is vibrating against the axle, but only in the cabin, not outside!? I checked out the whole muffler system and everything seems ok. I have checked for the transmission mount and it does thudd, but it could have done this before. Though it probably needs replacing, I am thinking it could be the rear mount is broken. When I lift the engine, the rear mount seems to move up way more than it should and it seems to be in two pieces. Has anyone heard of a vibration (possible engine to frame)as a result of the rear mount. My mechanic says he has never even changed a rear mount before and doubts my thoughts. SO, I guess I was just wondering if anyone else had dealt with this same situation. My engine seems to lift more than it should when I put the e-brake on and reverse a little. If it is the rear mount...which I have ordered anyhow...does anyone have any installation suggestions before I try installing. Thanks you guys!
