hello here's the situation: 97 900se turbo 2.0L convert. with 72K miles:
Not starting, cranks over, can hear the fuel pump and DIC buzzing/cleaning after unsuccessful attempt

Began having problems a couple of months ago..would get random misfire code/constant CEL..car felt like it was being starved for gas under load.
also started having hard starts, taking a few cranks, and sometimes taking a couple of minutes.

changed fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, evap system purge valve, and new gas cap, plugs NGK7's
cleaned TB and AIC

after I changed the mentioned above parts car started & ran great...for a couple of days. started cutting out again throwing a constant CEL with code random misfire code.

changed fuel pump (insert only..floor board cutting method) and all vacuum lines (checked and rechecked for proper installment)and the pcv valve.

car started and ran great for a couple of days..then started to cut out under load throwing CEL (code random misfire) also very hard starting.

changed DIC, plugs (again)NGK7's, all the main relays, and cleaned the AIC and TB once again.

car ran great for a day..no loss of power or cutouts...but gave me a P0172 code (system running to rich)...after that hard starts came back until she wouldn't start.

took off pos battery cable...waited 15min..put back on..started right up and ran great...got home turned the engine off waiting 10min..started her right up...shut her off..went inside for the night..next moring would not start, took battery cable loose...waited 15 min before putting back on..would not start...took it loose again (checked all vac lines once again per Deans advice, for the p0172 code) everything checked out...waited a few hours put battery cable back on..
DOESN"T START! Help! ANd yes I do hear the pump when the key is first turned on and the DIC buzzing/cleaning itself after an unsuccessful attempt of starting.

I've spent near $1000 so far..I'm leaning towards the Crank Position Sensor but if its not that I'll be out another $100

I live in Casper WY, nearest dealer is in FT Collins CO 200 miles away..
I'm getting a little desperate and aggitated...any help would be deeply appreciated thanks
