Let me start off by saying that this was the hardest part of the install and kept me from putting in an amp for three months.

It is really easy to mess something up when doing this, so be careful and do it at your own risk!

If you go to the Saab audio guide on this website, you will see where he talks about lifting the fusebox up in the engine compartment and punching through the rubber grommet where a bunch of other wires go through.

This is what you have to do, you do have to pick up the fuse box to get assess to the grommet where everything runs through. Don't punch through from the engine in though. If you do, you risk punching into the wires after they make it into the cabin. Once past the wall, the wires turn sharply, its very easy to mess something up. The best way, FOR ME (do this at your oen risk), was to take off the panel above the driver's foot well and find where the wires came through. Then using a phillip's head screwdriver, I went through the right side of the grommet from the cabin out to the engine bay. Then I backed off, taped my power wire to the screwdriver (very long screwdriver) and punched through again. I went to the engine bay and pulled about a foot of wire through and then went back intot he car and removed the screwdriver. I then fed the other two feet needed to reach the fuse and then finally the battery. You can then run the wire under your carpet and under the plastic pieces on the driver's side to whereever. I guess you could go to the right side of car as well, but be careful! There is shift linkage and AC controls in that center console! I then put everything back together and my car was fine. I put my amp on the back of my back seat, and grounded it to the bolt that holds in the driver's side back seatbelt.

Don't worry about twists and turns, worry about the wire going across sharp metal. don't go beside the rubber grommet, then the wire will be rubbing on metal.

Use a Fuse! Put it right next to the battery. I have heard stories of power wires shorting out and catching fire under carpet and roasting a car all because there was no fuse!

If you can't do it yourself, make sure you trust your installer. I have seen some of the worst half-assed jobs from installers. Remember, you like your car more than they do.

If you have any questions, post them and say "Hey ST"
