A far better action may an action under the lemmon law statute in your stated of residence or alternatively an action to void the sales contract based upon fraud due the fact that SAAB arguably marketed and affirmatively represented the car to be a synthesis of performance, safety, design and utility when in fact they knew that the chassis was not in fact such a synthesis. Obviously we all love our SAABs and would much prefer an amicable arrangment with SAAB to install an aftermarket fix if one is availble. If not I would be satisfied if they covered my depreciation loss and credited me with such when I purchase a new 9-5 or NG 9-3. I have had my car aligned to no effect at least 4 times in the the last 12 months.
If the SE suspension is not as prone to Camber steer, I would trade my base 9-3 if SAAB would subsidize my depreciation cost and the dealers low balling on the trade price which typically is 1500 to 2000 below NADA guidelines for a 99 9-3.
Excellent work Nigel. I would have no beef if not for the material misrepresentations about secure handling and safety contained in all of SAAB's written marketing materials for the 1999 base 9-3.
