I went out and bought a copy of European car. Please note the disclaimer at the end of the article that says these photos are computer enhanced renditions. A reminder that the 9-5 computer enhanced rendition we saw in magazine prior to its arrival were WAY WAY off the mark. Thankfully, since the 9-5 looks so much sweeter than the computer guesses that were made. Anyway, it's located on page 14 of European Car, left hand side column.

The current Saab 9-3 has been on the market since 1993, although it underwent a facelift last year. Now that Saab belongs 100 percent to GM, the all-new successor - due for launch MY 2002- will be joined for the first time in Saab's history by an additional sport utility vehicle with four-wheel drive.
While several all-new 9-3 prototypes have already appeared, the off-road Saab is still a secret. The mechanical structure of the new Saab SUV will be the same as in the new Pontiac Aztec and Buick Rendezvous [ed note: although this is recently denied by a quoted Saab source in another press article]. The body styling, however, will be typically Saab in order to meet not only the American but also the European buyers' taste. Power is expected to come from a 3.0 liter V6 engine produced by Saab, as well as from a new aluminum four-cylinder 2.2 liter powerplant by GM in different variants.
The new Saab off-roader (dubbed "Country King") will be built in Mexico, not in Sweden. It is expected to go on sale in 2002, with a concept version possibly appearing at the Detroit or Geneva motor shows. Both photos are computer-enhanced renditions of the new vehicles.
