I have the larger mount; it was the only one available when I got it. But I think I'd prefer the smaller mount, because:
1. It looks more finished than the larger mount. The larger mount attaches to the side of the dashboard with an exposed screw, and it clearly looks like it was "tacked" on.
2. The smaller mount doesn't use ANY screws (I believe.) Therefore, if you decide to remove it later, there will be no remaining screw holes.
