I believe my owner's manual says to limit revs to 5k up to the first
1200mi/2000km, and then avoid full throttle acceleration up to 1800mi/
3000 km. I know this because I accidently took it up to ~5k in 1st gear
briefly during a moment of inattention, and then double checked the manual
to make sure I hadn't gone over any limit. Given Saab's expertise with
building engines, I expect even this is conservative.
Definitely change the filter with each oil change. If you switch to
synthetic and extended drain intervals later (after warranty is up),
you might consider changing the filter in between the full oil change.
