I just reread your post and see that you haven't yet submitted the certificate of orgin for the vehicle or applied for the title. If that is the case and you are a resident in the state of Wisconsin and you bought the car out of state (if you bought the car in state the dealer should have taken care of title and registration for you) you do want to submit the certificate of orgin to the state and complete the title application. Wisconsin does not hold the title or issue it to the bank like some states might. Instead, as I explained in my earlier post, they will issue the original title to you with indication on the title that there is a lien holder.
See my ealier post for more information and confirm this with the people at WISDOT just to make sure you don't run into any problems especially since it sounds like the car was purchased out of state.
