No, I'm not gonna race 'em head to head, but I wanna know if anyone has experience between the two (or at least OG900 vs 9-3).

I have experience with og900's, but not the ng900's nor the new 9-3/9-5. Also, have been out of the saab game for maybe a year now - haven't kept up with the news, etc.

So, I have a few questions. I loved (repeat, loved) my spg (gone, but not forgotten) and am now considering a new car. I really want the Scoobie WRX, but have doubts about that since it is a little "ricey" and not a highway racer. Also, no leather and no sunroof. The sedan is small, but the wagon is better. Still, I wonder if it isn't a bit "young"? At least for my daily driver.

So, at the same price ($25k) if the 9-3 is like the spg (or og900's) then maybe I can can lose a few "off the line" races for still good speed with looks and refinement.

so, how's the handling? I've heard the 9-3 isn't as stiff and good as the og900's. does it have struts now? Is everybody putting in progressive springs to lower/stiffen? how large on the wheels can i go? 17's?

how about the braking? any easy upgrades there?

finally, I know its got more power, but how about the upgrades? 3" catback pipes and coldair intakes?

Oh yeah, 9-3 3dr vs 9-3 5dr SE? (since the SE doesn't come in 3dr) How is the extra 20hp made on the SE? If its just chipped, then will the 9-3std. perform as well with a chip/boost upgrade? is the se sport upgrade done right, or am i better getting the 9-3 and putting the 3-5k difference in real upgrades? (springs, exhaust, wheels 17's?).

thanks in advance for any insight.
